Giuliana Ferrari elected as the new Chair of the ATMP Platform

We are pleased to announce that the EATRIS ATMP Platform members have elected a new Chair. Giuliana Ferrari, Director of the GLP facility at SR-TIGET, San Raffaele-Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (SR-TIGET, Italy) will be the new Chair of the EATRIS ATMP Platform. Miguel Chillon Rodriguez will be the co-chair. We would like to express our gratitude to Maria Cristina Galli for her important work over the past years.

Giuliana is an experienced researcher with over 70 papers published in international scientific journals. Her research interests span gene therapy for beta-thalassemia, hematopoietic stem cell biology, transcriptional regulation, engineering of viral vectors, development of preclinical models for gene therapy. She is responsible for the clinical translation of gene therapy for ß-thalassemia, based on the developed GLOBE lentiviral vector. Additionally, Giuliana is a reviewer for several international journals such as Nature Medicine, Hematologica, Science Translational Medicine amongst others.
