More than two decades after the first meeting being held in Heidelberg, the European Glial Meeting has become the largest and most important international scientific reunion in glial biology in health and disease in the world. After the success of the 2017 meeting in Edinburgh, the conference comes for the first time to Porto, where it will be hosted by the growing local community of glial neuroscientists. The XIV European Meeting on Glial Cells in Health and Disease invites participation from neuroglia researchers from all over the world to Porto (Portugal).
The Glial meeting will be held in the Alfândega Congress centre, a former customhouse located in the historical centre of Porto along the bank of the Douro River facing the world-famous Port wine cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia. This large historical building, renovated by the Pritzker-winning architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, has been considered one of the best meetings and Conference Centers in Europe and provides excellent poster and lecture facilities to accommodate all of the meeting’s activities.
