We are delighted to announce that during the 2024 EATRIS Spring meeting held in Utrecht, the Netherlands, the EATRIS Board of Governors (BoG) recognised Finland, Portugal and Spain with the Node Reward 2024 for their accomplishments in 2023 in supporting the goals of EATRIS.
The decision was made based on a priority list issued by the Node Reward Committee a few weeks prior to the meeting. The criteria included:
- Increasing the number of external users (users from non-member institutions) accessing EATRIS;
- Furthering the field of translational research through developing education and training activities and/or contributing to education and training content, as well as patient engagement activities;
- Increasing the quality and reproducibility of translational research through participating in quality-related initiatives, such as proficiency testing of technology systems.
Each of the three nodes will receive a bursary of € 6000 to support their node activities. Congratulations to the recipients!
Node Rewards have been awarded annually since 2020. Previous awardees can be found here. All EATRIS member countries are eligible and encouraged to apply for the Node Rewards during the annual node reporting process, which commences on 31 March every year. All applications are reviewed by the Node Reward Review Committee consisting of seven members: Francesca Capone (IT) and Annika Jenmalm-Jensen (SE) from the Board of Governors, Laura Garcia Bermejo (ES) and Irena Mlinaric-Rascan (SI) as National Directors, and Laure Boudaud and Emanuela Oldoni from EATRIS C&S. The committee is chaired by Fatima Nunez from the EATRIS Scientific Advisory Board.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the review committee members including the first committee that served from 2021-2023 chaired by SAB Member Petr Kocis, and consisting of Board of Governors members Maria Ferrantini (IT), Jelena Ilic-Dreven (HR), National Directors Liene Nikitina-Zake (LV) and Pontus Aspenstrom (SE), and C&S members David Morrow and Rebecca Ludwig.
Since the beginning EATRIS has disbursed € 72,000 through the Node Rewards Framework to recognise and support the nodes’ activities. Congratulations to all the recipients!
