Overview
ACCESS2ACCESS aims to shape the future of access to European Research Infrastructures (RIs) by developing a common framework that makes access more discoverable, inclusive, efficient and sustainable across scientific domains.
The project will analyse existing access schemes, identify user and stakeholder needs, and develop recommendations for governance, funding and operational models that can support a more integrated European RI ecosystem. Through extensive consultation with research infrastructures, policy–makers and user communities, ACCESS2ACCESS will co-design future access pathways and explore innovative approaches, including AI-assisted tools for infrastructure discovery. Ultimately, the project will provide strategic recommendations to support a coherent, user-centred and sustainable European approach to RI access in the context of the European Research Area and future Framework Programmes.
Consortium
The ACCESS2ACCESS consortium brings together leading European Research Infrastructures, research organisations, policy experts and digital infrastructure providers from all ESFRI domains. This multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral partnership ensures broad representation of scientific communities, user groups and RI governance models across Europe, enabling the development of a future-proof and inclusive framework for access to European Research Infrastructures.
EATRIS Role in the Project
EATRIS participates in ACCESS2ACCESS as an Associated Partner, contributing expertise from the translational medicine and health research infrastructure domain. EATRIS supports stakeholder engagement, consultation activities and community outreach to ensure that the needs of the biomedical research community are reflected in the future European access framework. The involvement of EATRIS is primarily through the consultation and consensus-building activities in WP3, contributing expertise and feedback to the project’s recommendations and outputs.
