We are happy to announce that during the 2026 EATRIS Spring meeting, hosted this year in Prague, Czech Republic, the EATRIS Board of Governors (BoG) awarded the 2026 EATRIS Node Rewards to Spain, Sweden and Slovenia in recognition of their outstanding achievements in 2025.
These annual awards celebrate national nodes that demonstrate exceptional commitment to advancing the goals of EATRIS in three key areas:
-
Expanding access to EATRIS services for external users;
-
Enhancing translational research through education, training and patient engagement initiatives;
-
Improving research quality and reproducibility through participation in quality-driven programmes.
The decision was based on recommendations from the independent Node Reward Review Committee, following a detailed assessment of applications submitted during the annual node reporting process. All applications are reviewed by the Node Reward Review Committee, consisting of six members: Francesca Capone (IT) and Annika Jenmalm-Jensen (SE) from the Board of Governors, Laura Garcia Bermejo (ES) and Irena Mlinaric-Rascan (SI) as National Directors, and Laure Boudaud and Emanuela Oldoni from EATRIS C&S. The committee is chaired by Fatima Nunez from the EATRIS Scientific Advisory Board.
Each recipient node will receive a €6,000 bursary to further support their national activities in the coming year.
We extend our warm congratulations to Sweden, Spain and Slovenia for their leadership and commitment to EATRIS’ mission, and thank all the other applicants for their continued hard work and engagement.
Since its launch, the Node Reward Framework has distributed a total of €90,000 in support of translational research excellence across Europe. Previous awardees can be found here.
