We are looking for a Training manager (20 hours per week) to join our Training team and develop and deliver in person and live online courses to support biomedical researchers to better understanding and contribute to medicines development. This flexible, mainly remote role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful training in translational medicine with occasional in-person courses and team meetings. For a candidate with a suitable profile, this position may be combined with our E-learning Manager position to form a full-time role.
Job description
As EATRIS Training Manager, you will play a key role in designing, developing, implementing and evaluating live courses and workshops. You will work closely with EATRIS colleagues and external experts to analyse training needs and ensuring delivery is aligned with good practices in adult learning and up to date subject matter expertise. Additionally, you will contribute to writing grant proposals and implementing training related tasks in international projects. Your ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders and the training team will be essential to success in this role.
Main responsibilities
- Analyse training needs and translate the findings into appropriate learning objectives and course designs.
- Design, develop, implement and evaluate in-person and live online courses
- Liaise with subject matter experts
- Facilitate participatory face-to-face and online learning activities
- Manage course delivery, including speakers, logistics, participant registration and training documentation.
- Contribute to the development of training-related tasks and work packages for international funding proposals, including Horizon Europe and Erasmus+
- Deliver training related tasks in international projects such as ERDERA, TransBioNet, STARDAST, OSCARS
Profile
You should have:
- A degree in life sciences or a related field
- Experience in developing and delivering in-person and/or live online training and evaluating quality and impact
- Experience using methods and tools that encourage interaction and active learning
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities and collaborate with colleagues and external experts
- Excellent written and spoken English
It would be an advantage if you also bring experience in
- A qualification or relevant training in adult learning, education and didactics,
- Contributing to the writing process of large, international grant proposals
- Fostering generalisation and transfer of learning into daily practice
- Leading or contributing to training related work packages or tasks in international projects
- FAIRification of training materials
