Solidarity with refugee researchers of Ukraine

Published 30 March 2022

A letter has been published by the European Commission’s Director-General for Research and Innovation, asking for support from beneficiaries in EU funded grants under the Horizon programmes to researchers from Ukraine.

In the letter, Jean-Eric Paquet says: “While the ongoing Russian war of aggression against Ukraine put the agreement’s entry into force on hold, our commitment towards Ukraine to bring our research communities closer together grows bigger and stronger with every day.

In light of this commitment, a dedicated ‘ERA4Ukraine‘ portal has been launched as a one-stop-shop for information on support to researchers of Ukraine by the EU, its Member States and Associated Countries.

We wanted to highlight this message to the EATRIS community, specifically to our biomedical researchers, and ask for your support to refugee researchers of Ukraine in your ongoing Horizon projects.

You will soon be able to notify such opportunities in your ongoing project via the European Commission’s “Funding & Tenders Portal“. Stay tuned for that update.

As Jean-Eric Paquet puts it: “I hope this move can make a difference in the lives of those who need it today the most.
