EATRIS team is happy to announce that the infrastructure will participate in four additional H2020 projects as of early 2019: the European Joint Programme for Rare Diseases (EJP RD), EOSC-Life, ERIC Forum and RI-VIS.

EJP RD (2019-2023)

“Working with a budget of over €100 million, of which €55 million will come from EU’s research and innovation programme Horizon 2020, EJP RD will aim to make sure that new treatments and diagnostic tools reach those who need them the most. Coordinated by the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research INSERM, the EJP RD will run over five years. It comprises more than 130 entities from 35 countries (including 27 EU Member States, seven Associated Countries and Canada). It brings together the resources at the national and European level involving research funders, universities, research organisations, research infrastructures, hospitals and patient organisations.” (See European Commission’s press release)

EATRIS is the co-leader of one of the four main pillars of activities dedicated to “Accelerating Translation”. Under that pillar, EATRIS will lead the work package dedicated to facilitate partnerships and accelerate translation for higher patient impact. Among the activities planned, EATRIS will be responsible for assembling an Innovation Management Toolbox, assessing the translational potential of research projects and provide real-time mentoring. We will also contribute to other parts of the proposal related to education and sustainability strategy. Two EATRIS member institutions will participate alongside the coordination office – Vall D’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) in Spain and University of Oslo (UiO).

EOSC-Life (2019-2023)

EOSC-Life is the cluster project of the 13 Biological and Medical ESFRI RI, aiming at creating an ecosystem of innovative life-science tools in the European Open Science Cloud.

EATRIS will co-lead two work packages: WP8 International Impact, Innovation and Sustainability and WP10 People and Training. Five member institutions and associate stakeholders will also participate: IMTM (Czech Republic); Lygature (The Netherlands); Mario Negri Institute (Italy); Vall D’Hebron Research Institute (Spain); Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland.

ERIC Forum (2019-2021)

ERIC Forum is a four-year project which will help strengthening coordination and networking of the established European Research Infrastructure Consortia (ERIC). It will support the organisation of specific meetings, targeted thematic workshops focusing on shared challenges such as the development of internal procurement rules, harmonised reporting, VAT exemption practices, insurances and pensions policies and training of governance bodies representatives. The project will also facilitate common outreach activities and strengthen the external representation of ERICs.

EATRIS will lead the work package dedicated to Operations, Administration, HR and Finance of ERICs.

RI-VIS (2019-2021)

Instruct-ERIC will coordinate RI-VIS project which will work to develop new collaborations of research infrastructures with the scientific and extended community, it will help to improve user accessibility to research infrastructures, develop collaborative and innovative actions, look for funding opportunities. The project will also aim to improve research infrastructure knowledge transfer and  training opportunities. RI-VIS will increase the visibility of European RIs to broader scientific communities, industry and strategic partners in third countries. The RI-VIS consortium has main membership from the life sciences RIs.
