EATRIS, the European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine, is proud to announce the launch of its new Working Group focused on reducing its environmental impact. The group meets every two months to identify key initiatives that could help lower its carbon emissions, and implement the most relevant actions to reduce its footprint.
According to Toni Andreu Scientific Director of EATRIS: “This initiative is fully matching and extending EATRIS mission of pooling and making the best use of available resources for translational medicine”.
The vision of the Working Group is to make a positive impact on the world by reducing the environmental footprint of EATRIS. Its mission is to raise awareness, evaluate rigorously and report transparently on its actions to lower the carbon emissions of EATRIS. The Working Group strives to identify areas where EATRIS it can have the greatest impact and take action to create meaningful, positive change.
Lauranne Duquenne, Chair of the Working Group, said: “We are thrilled to launch this initiative to reduce our environmental impact. We are committed to identifying and implementing the most relevant actions to lower our carbon emissions, and we are excited to raise awareness and encourage environmental best practices within the Translational Medicine community as a whole.”
