We are looking for a Junior Legal Counsel (24 hours per week) to support the Head of Legal and Governance at our Coordination and Support Office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. As Junior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for a range of legal tasks and activities related to EATRIS services and EU funded projects. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team and have the opportunity to develop your skills and grow in a dynamic and multicultural environment.

Job Description

As Junior Legal Counsel, you will provide support to our Head of Legal and Governance in daily legal operations, including managing contracts, performing legal research, tracking new legislation, and assisting with drafting and implementing relevant in-house policies and SOPs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Review and drafting of less complex agreements related to EATRIS services and EU funded projects (consortium agreements)
  • Legal/ELSI support and research for EU-funded projects for which EATRIS is a beneficiary
  • Legal support in various EATRIS’ working groups (i.e. gender equality task force etc.)
  • Conduct legal research and keep track of new legislation in pipeline, prepare briefs/summaries
  • Support on personal data compliance questions
  • Assist with preparing presentations and materials related to legal and governance topics
  • Manage the contracts and legal documents database in Microsoft CRM Dynamics, ensuring it remains well organised and up to date
  • Monitor the lifecycle of contracts (expiry and renewal)
  • Assist with legal documentation for collaboration with public and private clients and stakeholders
  • Monitor execution of EATRIS Framework Agreement signed with EATRIS institutions
  • Monitor implementation of relevant in-house policies and SOPs

Profile

  • A master’s degree in law, preferably specialisation in EU law
  • 1-3 years of working experience in a commercial or scientific research-oriented environment
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the fields of contract law and privacy law
  • Knowledge and/or experience in intellectual property and pharmaceutical law is desirable
  • Knowledge and/or experience in life sciences is desirable
  • Responsible, structured, well-organised team player
  • Analytical skills and attention to details
  • Keen interest about contracts, legal operations, and compliance
  • Desire to grow and learn
  • Proven competences in using MS Office, SharePoint, CRM systems
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English
