At the University of Turku, Central Animal Laboratory (UTUCAL) offers safety and toxicology studies for chemicals and medicinal products for academic and industrial customers. UTUCAL is a university-based preclinical animal facility that operates in compliance with the OECD Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
Our facility is regularly inspected by the Finnish Medicine Agency (FIMEA). Both small and large animal facilities are operated in compliance with GLP. UTUCAL offers GLP safety and toxicology services, clinical laboratory (hematology and clinical chemistry) and non-GLP research services. UTUCAL also offers Laboratory Animal Science courses in English and Finnish. Support services include experimental design, sampling, dosing, and support for project license applications.
