Health technology assessment (HTA) is the gateway to accessing medicines in much of Europe, but understanding the terminology, the process, and the role for patient groups can be hugely challenging. In this webinar the Findacure speakers will dive in to the basics of health economics assessment, arming the audience with some of the knowledge and tools they need to understand the process. They will then explore the emerging role for patient groups in the HTA process – whether providing expert advice to bodies such as NICE, or preparing the basic resources to understand the cost of the patient’s condition to the healthcare system.
This webinar will:
- Provide attendees with a broad introduction to health economics
- Cover what NICE needs in order to make decisions on drug reimbursement
- Highlight where patient groups can get involved with the HTA process
- Signpost to external organisations that can help patient organisations with the process
