Overcoming Therapy Resistance: Outsmarting intratumour heterogeneity and plasticity

Date & Time 20-22 April 2027
Location Lyon, France

This new EACR conference topic will tackle one of oncology’s most persistent challenges: why do tumours adapt and resist therapy?

Grounded in the core biology of intratumour heterogeneity (ITH) and cellular plasticity, the meeting emphasises therapy in its broad sense – from targeted agents and immunotherapies to combination regimens. A central theme is the tumour immune microenvironment (TIME) perspective: how treatment location and timing, shaped by the tumour’s spatial and temporal evolution and its microenvironment, influence outcomes and create opportunities for intervention.

We’ll bring together international leaders of the field to illuminate how tumour complexity evolves, explore strategies to identify driver cell states and dissect and rewire the tumour microenvironment, and examine cutting-edge approaches to counter ITH and plasticity.

The target audience for this conference is researchers, clinicians, and allied health professionals focused on cancer biology, translational cancer research, medical oncology, and immunotherapy who want to translate insights on ITH, plasticity, and therapy timing into better patient care.
