CoLAB AccelBio is a private non-profit association recognised as a Collaborative Laboratory (CoLAB) by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
AccelBio is dedicated to accelerating the translation, commercialisation, and global dissemination of cutting-edge biomedical discoveries and innovations in drug discovery. It aims to provide closer support to biomedical academic scientists and startups, facilitating the transformation of early-stage drug discoveries into viable preclinical candidates. Furthermore, AccelBio focuses on building core platforms in advanced in vitro models, multiomics, computational chemistry, bioinformatics, high-throughput screening and innovative therapeutic modalities.
By leveraging the expertise and resources of its Associate members, AccelBio seeks to generate novel therapeutic targets, validate new drug discovery tools, and facilitate multiple parallel drug discovery projects. In addition, AccelBio is also committed to training the next generation of scientists and entrepreneurs, fostering a pipeline of talent equipped to drive drug discovery and innovation.
