Slovak Republic Becomes Member State of EATRIS-ERIC

The EATRIS Board of Governors has officially approved the Slovak Republic’s request for full membership, marking a significant milestone as Slovakia becomes the 15th member state of EATRIS-ERIC. This development underscores the country’s growing commitment to advancing research infrastructure and innovation in translational medicine.

Jelena Ilić-Dreven, Chair of the EATRIS Board of Governors, commented: “We are pleased to welcome the Slovak Republic as the 15th member of EATRIS-ERIC. Their accession reflects a strong commitment to advancing translational research in Europe and adds valuable momentum to our collective mission. We look forward to a productive and inspiring collaboration with our new colleagues from Slovakia.”

Mr. Ján Kočišek, Delegate of the Slovak Republic to the EATRIS Board of Governors, shared his perspective: “Joining EATRIS as a full member is a proud achievement for Slovakia and a testament to our ongoing investment in research and innovation. This membership aligns with Slovakia’s strategic objectives in fostering cutting-edge biomedical research and personalised medicine. The Slovak delegation to EATRIS includes:

  • Ján Kočišek, Delegate – Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic
  • Simona Foltinová, Alternate Delegate – Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic
  • Erika Halašová, Scientific Delegate – Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin, Comenius University Bratislava

Slovakia’s entry into EATRIS-ERIC not only enhances the national research ecosystem but also adds new strengths and perspectives to the broader European translational research community.
