NOVA Medical School (NMS), in collaboration with the European project Extracellular Vesicles in Clinical Applications (EVCA) and the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GIMM), invites you to participate in the event “Biobanks in Health Research: Driving Innovation & Impact.”
The event will take place on 17 June 2025, at the NOVA Medical School premises in Lisbon, and is organised as part of the EATRIS Spotlight Programme 2025 – Portugal, which aims to highlight EATRIS institutions across various countries.
This event aims to explore the critical role of biobanks in advancing biomedical and clinical research, addressing current challenges, opportunities, and innovative solutions. Through presentations and roundtable discussions with national and international experts, the event will offer discussions on key topics:
- Ethical, legal, and operational complexities of biobanking;
- Strategies to enhance data value using artificial intelligence and FAIR principles;
- Design and implementation of international multicentric clinical trials, and patient engagement in clinical research.
This event provides a unique platform to connect biomedical researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and industry partners, promoting Portugal’s role in international biomedical and clinical research and strengthening the future of Biobanco.pt.
We look forward to your presence to enrich this essential discussion on the future of biomedical and clinical research in Portugal and Europe.
