EATRIS is committed to promoting gender equality and fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive working environment for all staff members and collaborators. Gender Equality is recognised as a core value that strengthens the organisation and contributes to the quality, relevance, and impact of research and innovation.
To guide and structure these efforts, EATRIS has developed and implemented dedicated Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) that outline concrete measures, actions, and monitoring mechanisms. These plans address the five priority areas recommended by the European Commission:
- Work–life balance and organisational culture
- Gender balance in leadership and decision-making
- Gender equality in recruitment and career progression
- Integration of the gender dimension into research and teaching content
- Measures against gender-based violence
EATRIS’ first Gender Equality Plan (2022–2023) established the foundation for institutional change, while the second edition (2024–2026) builds on its achievements and introduces new actions to strengthen transparency, inclusivity, and equal opportunities across all levels of the organisation.
