The 8th online meeting of the RItrainPlus Community of Practice will take place on 16 February from 12:00 to 13:30 CET. This session is dedicated to incorporating equity, diversity and inclusion practices into research projects.
Session Overview
Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) practice has gained traction across the research sector. Many research funders require implementation and reporting of EDI practice as part of projects, and research institutions tend to have EDI strategies in place. However, as important as EDI is to ensuring good research, personnel may experience barriers to properly achieve EDI goals. Barriers are numerous and range from gaps in knowledge and attitudes, through to skills and attributes. In this interactive meeting we will provide an overview of basic definitions of EDI, steps that can be taken to address issues, and discuss ways to incorporate EDI practice at various levels of research.
