Immuno PET imaging is a powerful technique to study the ADME profile and target engagement of drug candidates, like antibodies. These drugs often have a long residence time and require modification with a long-lived radioisotope, such as 89-Zircononium for full examination in a (multimodal) PET imaging study. In a recent paper in Bioconjugate Chemistry, Heskamp et al. outlined the current state of the art radiochemistry techniques, such as choice of chelate in preparing the optimal radiopharmaceutical for preclinical and clinical studies. EATRIS has several institutions that can provide expertise and infrastructure to support preclinical imaging studies in various animal models, ranging from rodents to non human primates, and can extend the translational pipeline to the clinic with GMP radiochemistry labs close to the clinic.
