We are pleased to announce that the EATRIS Board of National Directors have elected Claudia de Faria from Instituto de Medicina Molecular (IMM, Portugal) to be the new Chair of the Board of National Directors. We would like to express our gratitude to Mats Larhed for his important work over the past two years.
Claudia brings a wealth of experience in coordinating functions within National and European Reference Networks (ERN-CRANIO), in leading a national infrastructure (Biobanco-iMM/CAML) and in participating and leading activities of National and European medical societies (the Portuguese Neuro-oncology Association and the European Society for Pediatric Oncology – Brain Tumor Group).
Her experience as a clinician-scientist, knowing the needs and difficulties in translational medicine, will be of great value to foster networking and promote the collaboration between health and research institutions, national and European infrastructures, bringing together health care professionals, researchers and patients.
