EATRIS Attends 2015 BIO USA Conference

Published 13 July 2016

Imagine: 16,000 people, all in one way or the other involved in biotechnology, brought together with the goal of forging new collaborations. This sets the scene for the annual BIO USA Conference, this year held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania June 15-18.

BIO USA is considered amongst the world’s largest biotech meetings, offering opportunities for partnering and networking alongside exhibitions and professional development sessions. Florence Bietrix, Operations Manager attended on behalf of EATRIS.

At BIO USA, EATRIS C&S delegates met face-to-face with 20 SMEs and pharma companies to discuss potential collaborations. Not only was this a good opportunity to identify and interact with clients, but to learn about their needs from RIs like EATRIS.

For instance, US-based companies commented on the difficulties they face when identifying key opinion leaders in Europe. Representatives of regional science parks acknowledged the importance of their members getting smooth and speedy access to academic infrastructures and services. Meanwhile, SMEs acknowledged their increase workload and need for assistance when managing this.

We look forward to interacting and collaborating with the companies we met, and further developing our strategy and offering for next year’s BIO USA in San Francisco.
