Target group The program addresses chemists, pharmacists and other natural scientists working in the small-batch production or quality control of radioapharmaceuticals
Learning objectives * to know the fundamentals of development, preparation, testing and stability of sterile radiopharmaceutical preparations
* to acquire basic information on European legislation in Radiopharmacy including GMP and Pharmacopoeia
* to understand basics of gene engineering and pharmacokinetics

The postgraduate program addresses natural scientists and pharmacists involved in the development, production and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals. The program provides essential knowledge in

  • European Drug Legislation, Quality Assurance and GMP (Module I)
  • Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry (Module II)
  • Radiopharmacology and Clinical Radiopharmacy (Module III)

Graduates achieve the ETH degree “Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry/Radiopharmacy”, which is recognised by the European Association of Nuclear Medicine EANM.

Module I in Ljubljana is an intensive theoretical course with practical aspects. It introduces fundamentals in drug development, formulation, evaluation, including biopharmaceutical aspects and European legislation. Special emphasis is laid on good practices and quality assurance of parenterals and clinical trials.”
